SELF HELP GROUP & SELF EMPLOYMENT (SHG & SE) SECTION

The Department of Self Help Group & Self Employment was set up in July, 2006 with the objective to co-ordinate works relating to Self Help Groups irrespective of whether they are formed by Govt. Department or NABARD or any other Bank as well as Self Employment Schemes of different Departments of the State Government. It also provides infrastructure facilities, training and other related inputs towards improving the functioning of Self Help Groups as well as streamlines the flow of institutional finance to these Groups.

 

INITIATIVES

Training Programmes for Self Help Groups

The Department has organized several Training Programmes for Self Help Groups on different trades viz. Tailoring, Jute products making , Embroidery , Imitation Jewellery  , Beautician , Jam-Jelly Processing  etc. The Department has recently taken up training Programmes on Tailoring, Embroidery, Jute Product Making and Beautician for Self Help Groups. 

Sabala Mela

The Department has organized Sabala Mela at each district for SHG Group & unemployment youth.

 

SCHEMES & PROJECTS

Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasansthan Prokalpo (SVSKP)

The Department of Self Help Group & Self Employment is implementing S.V.S.K.P. through Society for Self Employment of Unemployed Youth, West Bengal that is wholly owned by the Government. The objective of the scheme is to generate self employment in urban and rural areas of the state through promotion of tiny scale units of production, manufacturing, trade, service, agro based industries etc. The scheme provides for Govt. subsidy of 30% of project cost subject to a maximum of Rs. 1.5 lakh in case of individuals and Rs.3.5 lakhs in case of groups. The maximum project cost for individual application is Rs. 10 lakh and for groups the project cost is Rs.25 lakhs. The scheme is applicable to all unemployed youths within the age of 18 to 45 years which want to generate a new income by setting up small scale units or revive or improve in existing unit. The scheme is monitored by District and Block Official and also by the P.I.C. set up for each Block and Municipality.There are two schemes under SVSKP-

1) ATMA MARYADA– For individual entrepreneur, 

2) ATMA SAMMAN – For group entrepreneur.

 

 

Documents Required for SVSKP Scheme if project cost of Rs. 2,50,000/- or higher:-

Nature of Project : Grocery/Hardware/Stationary/Rice/Paddy/Stock/ Ready Made Garments/ Tailoring/ Muri Making/ Kutty/ medicine Shop/ Mobile Repairing etc.
