Ongoing Schemes Of Employment Exchanges

1.  Online Registration

Daily registration made of unemployed persons with proper verification of their personal and educational details. Data is entered in the online portal www.employmentservice.nic.in

 

2.  P&E Registration

As a special function P&E Registration facility is now given in the local exchange instead of P&E Exchange Kolkata. This is for technically qualified persons&professionals like Post Graduate, Engineer, MBA, MCA etc.

 

3.  Renewal

Renewal of existing registration are made on daily basis to overcome the registration lapse

 

4.  Employment Bank (Enrolment & Validation)

The Pioneer Scheme has been launched by the Govt. of West Bengal to make a common platform for co-ordination of Employer, Jobseekers and Educational institutions through a web portal www.employmentbankwb.gov.in

Jobseekers do online enrolment in the said portal and they are given a User ID and Password after verification & Validation. Jobseekers can see & apply for the jobs which are posted here.

Employers can select the jobseekers from this huge database matching the criteria they require. Also they can advertise here about the jobs. Educational institutions can make bulk posting the data of the passed out batches.

   

5.  Yuvasree (Unemployment Assistance)

According to the seniority of enrolment in the employment bank portal the first 1 lakh candidates are now given unemployment assistance of Rs 1500 per month, which is named as Yuvasree. This programme is performed in co-ordination with the SDO Offices all over West Bengal. The Jobseekers can expend the money to increase their skills to be employed.

 

6.  Skill Development Scheme for the Registered Job-Seekers

This is a very much suitable programme that the employment exchanges of West Bengal as well as all over India run to give some technical training to the unskilled unemployed persons registered here as per the market demand. After training these persons become suitable to be absorbed by the industrial & commercial sectors. Some of the trades are Information Technology, Financial Accounting, Automobile repair & maintenance, beautician, Tailoring etc. Government is subsidizing 50% of course fee or Rs 5000 which is less to every individual, participating the programme.

 

7.  Career Corner (Library Facility)

A Library is established in most of the employment exchanges which are enriched with career journals & magazines and books related to competitive exams. Candidates can avail the reading facility here absolutely free of cost.

 

 

8.  Vocational Guidance

This is a programme for instant counselling of the candidates visiting the employment exchange to guide them into the right path of career. This acts to encourage people and build a self-confidence within them to do better in their life.

 

9.  Special Coaching (For Competitive Exams)

Several numbers of free coaching camps are arranged every year for those who are preparing for competitive exams. In the present scenario of West Bengal there are a vast number of students who cannot afford to take coaching from private institutions. For them Govt. thinks to give a bit of facility in this regard. Specialist faculty members teach these batches how to prepare for competitive exams,subject wise classes are taken for GK, Mathematics, English, Reasoning etc.

 

10. Mock Test (as per real exam pattern)

Several numbers of Mock Tests are arranged every year for preparation and self-assessment regarding competitive exams. These are generally taken just few days before the commencement of its original exam. Candidates have to collect admit cards for Mock Test before the exam dates.

 

11. Career Talk in Schools & Colleges

This is another programme for instant counselling of the school (Upper Classes)& college students to guide them into the right path of career. This is to aware them about the employment market, present scenario of the country as well as the Govt. schemes of our department, suitable for them. This is an initiative taken to germinate the seeds in an environment of opportunity.

 

12. UdiyamanSwanirbharKarmasangsthanPrakalpa (USKP)

This is a self-employment scheme to empower the unemployed people through entrepreneurship development. Loans are given by the banks on the basis of employment exchange sponsored names, amounting Rs 50000/- for small business purpose. Government is giving subsidy value of 25% on the project cost. Employment Exchange registered candidates with the age group of 18-45 with relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PH as per rule are considered as applicable for loan.

 

13. Self-Employment Motivation camp

Before entrepreneurship development the unskilled people should be made aware of the minutes of business formation, banking, accounts keeping, and marketing. For this purpose the USKP applicant are invited to join a 3 days Self-Employment motivation cum awareness camp conducted jointly by this office and the specific Rural Self Employment Training Centre in the district.

 

14. PrasikshanShibir for Domestic Helps

There are a vast number of women serving as Domestic Helps in others houses. Thinking about them Labour Department, Govt. of WB has launched another successful programme to train them about the use of domestic appliances, maintaining personal hygiene, safety within work, aware about domestic violence etc. This is a batch wise 3 days programme of 25 women per batch. Hundred rupees per day per individual is also given for the training days as conveyance.

 

15. VacancySubmission

By the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India Employment Exchanges currently have no monopoly of sponsoring names against the vacancy notified. All types of Vacancies are now widely circulated in electronic & press media. If the names are requested from the exchange, besides open for all, Parallel submission is also made from here in respect of local and SECO circulated vacancies.

16. Gatidhara (A Subsidized Loan Scheme for Purchasing Commercial L/M Vehicle)

Gatidhara is a newly launched scheme by the Labour Dept, Govt. of West Bengal in co-ordination with the transport department and district administration i.e. Sub Divisional Officer. It is basically a subsidized loan scheme for purchasing light/medium commercial vehicle for transport business. The maximum project cost is fixed as 10 lakh rupees in which the subsidy amount of 30% with a maximum limit to 1 lakh rupees included. Commercial Driving License and enrolment in Employment Bank Portal is mandatory in this respect. People with age group of 20-45 with relaxation to SC, ST, and OBC as per rule can apply for loan if he/she is still unemployed and his/her family income is under Rs 25000 per month. Route permit will be given by RTO on priority basis after the sanction of loan. Only one member of a family can take this benefit.
